Today we continue an ambitious project! For the next nine months, you and I will get the opportunity to read through, and more importantly, pray through the Psalms together. See this post for more info.
The audio file below is the entire episode for today. The text below is today’s prayer. I’m reading the Contemporary English Version of the Text, copyright 1995, by the American Bible Society.
Lord. Abba. God.
Have mercy. May your grace shine on me. Please don’t correct me when you are angry. Show love and compassion. Have mercy and heal my body, for I am weary. I hurt. I am in deep distress. How long, Lord? How much longer? Come to my rescue, please, Father! Show me your unfailing love. Save me. For if I die, I cannot proclaim your praises. I am weary from the constant attacks at night. My pillow is soaked with tears and my bed from sweat. I cannot see for my eyes are weak because of my enemies.
I know you hear my anguish. Dismiss my enemies! They who hate me because I love you and trust you.
Thank you for turning your ears to my voice and your face to my eyes. Thank you for answering my prayer and my pleas for mercy.
My enemies will be overcome with their guilt and shame. They will flee in complete disgrace. Thank you Lord!
We open our hands and our hearts to you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
